Simple Spool Advent Calendar

Just Something I Made Simple Spool Advent Calendars

I must say that I really like this advent calendar.
It’s something different for a change from all those little boxes.

And if you’re taking tiny ones you can bead the spools after Christmas ;-))

Don’t forget, I will present more advent calendar ideas this week!

Crochet Afghan Squares

Priscilla Hewitt Fishermans Ring

I presented several crochet squares already but the one on the photo is one of my favorites since a long time.
Unfortunately I couldn’t crochet it immediately and haven’t had the time yet to try it unhurriedly.

If you like it, too, you can download a PDF file (ca. 970 KB) with the instructions for 17(!) most beautiful crochet squares at the Free Pattern Index of Priscilla’s Crochet (Afghan Squares).

And then you can begin with your crochet Afghan ;-))

Paper Napkin Pillow

favecrafts Paper Napkin Pillow

I’m always impressed by all the great ideas out there: This time it’s about sewing yourself a pillow from paper napkins matching your home furnishings!
Seen like this it would be great for a picnic or similar, too: you can take pillows with you that match the other napkins ;-)
She said that the pillows are amazingly strong, somewhen I really have to try this ;-))

Kantha Embroidery

webindia123 Kantha Embroidery

Recently I surfed the internet and found the Kantha embroidery.
It remembered me of the Sashiko embroidery but there you only embroider the outlines.

I find it beautiful: shapes are filled with simple stitches and yet it looks elegant.

Foam Tray Plaster Casting

unikatissima Foam Tray Plaster Casting

The tutorial about plaster casting in a simple foam tray is meant again as kids craft.
But I have some buttons and stamps with interesting surfaces – I should be able to use them to make some cute plaster pendants from, shouldn’t I?

I’m looking for this foam trays for a certain time, but I can’t get them here.
Seems as if I have to resort to play dough or even to carving them myself ;-)

Perfect Weight

craftster Perfect Scale

I told already that want to lose weight before I will crochet the bolero but I don’t find it easy.
How much better must it be if the scales tell me that my weight is ‘perfect’?
;-)

She made the scales with glass mosaic tiles but I think that it should be possible with selfmade mosaic tiles from polymer clay or glass paints or from plaster, resp. Or of course with a paper collage, best as paper crazy quilt. Or with eggshells.
;-))
