Craft Cozy Mysteries

unikatissima Craft Cozy Mysteries

Sometimes you must be allowed to do something else than crafting or needlework, so why not reading a mystery that concerns in some way crafting or needlework?
;-))

Scrap Quilt

Quiltville Scrap Quilt

Hm, at the end of the year they say that one must tidy up a little to have a good start into the next year.
What about making a scrap quilt to work up all those little left-over pieces of fabric from the different projects?
Or can’t you finish a quilt that fast?
;-)))

Polymer Clay Zentangles

Doras Explorations Polymer Clay Zentangles

When I saw the tutorial on how to make polymer clay Zentangles I thought: ‘Wow! What a great idea!’

Up until now I only sketched my Zentangles and made a lot of things with Fimo and I even thought about making the polymer clay letter cane ;-)
I still have some black and white polymer clay canes, perhaps I can make something with them.

Self-made Envelopes

the knitted blog Self-made Envelopes.jpg

Now there lies a lot of gift wrapping paper around at most of our homes and we have to think about what to do with it.
One possibility is to make envelopes from it – if it’s not too Christmassy then there’s no problem and if it is, then it’s great for the next year, after all Christmas always comes completely surprisingly ;-)
For me at least ;-)

Crochet Shawl

Makhina Crochet Shawl

Again such a wonderful item I’ll never finish in my life! This time a shawl in a – as I find – very interesting crochet stitch which is a ‘refinement’ of the so-called Puff stitch (I think that it is in German Büschelmasche).

I have the feeling that if one is about to begin now one can finish the shawl until summer ;-))

Beaded Art Dolls

craftster Coral Beaded Art Doll

On the photo is one of the first Beaded Art Dolls I’ve ever seen and it impressed me deeply.
I always wanted to make one but haven’t had the time yet.
Up until now I only made my freeform bead embroidery ;-)

But I looked for ‘Bead Art Doll’ already ;-)
In doing so I found a mermaid and a butterfly craftalong (in a craftalong several people work on the same project and compare notes). Furthermore I found a most beautiful bird, a blog entry on the subject of ‘Beaded Art Dolls’ and several wonderful finished Beaded Art Dolls, where I like most the Wise One and the little Alien Doll.

If you want to make one, too, you can get patterns for the dolls here.

Literal Video Version

youtube Literal Video Version

Today is Christmas Eve where there’s not a lot of time for crafting, therefore I wanted to present something that I found most hilarious: the literal music video versions.
There they change the lyrics to describe what’s happening in the video.
I had a lot of fun with :)) although I’ve never been interested in music videos.
My personal highlight is Meat Loaf: Literal Video Version (Anything For Love) – so wonderfully crazy ;-)))
(To avoid misunderstandings: I really like Meat Loaf and Anything For Love!
And this video, too ;-)))

By the way I found the video via an article in Spiegel where they present more of these videos.

Plaster and Crisp Bag Penholder

Art Attack Plaster and Plastic Bag Penholder

I presented the origamic architecture pencil holder before, here something for people who don’t like it so fiddly: a pen holder made from a plaster-filled crisp bag.

I like the idea :))
