Online Pythagoras Calculator

unikatissima Pythagoras Calculator

I decided to crochet a Bolero from self-designed crochet motives and selected the Bolero 1 as pattern (see the links below on how to find the pattern).

Jessica Tromp Bolero Patterns With Bolero 1 the square crochet motives are worked standing on their tip and I knew the width of the back of my Bolero.
So then I ‘only’ had to find out how long the edges of my crochet motives have to be and it’s Pythagoras who’s responsible for ;-)
And then I thought that I’m surely not the only one with such questions. You can get the same problem e.g. if you want to knit Entrelac and want to find out the size of the individual squares. I suppose that there are more uses for this when crafting or needleworking.
For all those people I wrote my Online Pythagoras Calculator ;-)

Faux Quilt Votives

Just Something I Made Faux Quilt Votives

I find this idea really great, too: simply scan old quilts, print, sew a little and wrap around a votive ;-)
It’s a little bit as with the Fabric/Paper Place Mat.
And I think that it would look wonderful, too, with a paper Crazy Quilt!

By the way: the paper gets more transparent when you paint it slightly with oil.
It will smell a while, but then the smell disappears ;-)

On the page she also shows how to print the quilt picture onto inkjet T-shirt transfer and embellish leather with it – great!

Filet Crochet with Strewn Little Flowers

unikatissima Filet Crochet with Strewn Little Flowers

I know filet crochet with strewn little flowers for any length of time, but when I found an instruction I had to give it a try:
It’s fun! ;-)
On the photo you see my first try, I’m thinking of crocheting a tote for me with this pattern ;-)

Fabric/Paper Place Mat

alisaburke Fabric Paper Place Mat

When I saw these place mats I was compleeetly thrilled: that’s exactly what I love so much!
She seems to use as well fabric as paper – many of these self coloured.
And I do love to work with paper, e.g. at my paper shopping bag or my paper Crazy Quilt ;-)

Knitted World Gas Commercial

YouTube Knitted World Gas Commercial

Did you already hear about the great video where they tried to visualize the warmth of gas with knitting?
Wonderful!
And I like the making of as well ;-)

While you’re at it, perhaps it’s time to see the knitted video again?! ;-)

Woven Silver Wire Ring

craftster Woven Silver Wire Ring

I find this ring most beautiful, it is braid from five strands of two silver wires each and the beads are attached at the ends.
Simply yet striking.
Is seems that it looks also wonderful if braided from copper wire – there was some copper wire laying around here somewhere…
;-)
By the way the braiding with five strands doesn’t seem to be very difficult.
