Knitted Lace Notecards

vintagekathleen Lace Notecards

If you knit lace, e.g. for the Crazy Lace Cardigan or all sorts of other things, you should always knit swatches.
And what to do with them later on? (For me this is the reason why I don’t make swatches, often to my own disadvantage ;-)).

Anyway, I’ve found something now: you can ‘simply’ make knitted lace notecards with them ;-)

I presented a site with lots of knitting (lace) patterns before, so that you can start directly ;-)

And if knitting isn’t your cup of tea, it works of course with crochet, too, as you can see e.g. with my cro-tat card for Mother’s Day.

By her own account the pattern for the knitted lace notecard on the photo is Grün ist die Hoffnung which is available as free ravelry download.

There you can read the following: “Grün ist die Hoffnung was designed for the Socken-Kreativ-Liste, a German yahoo-KAL with 2000 members.
It is available in English and in German.
You can find the English version in my raverlry store for free. Please contact me for the German version.

Custom-fit Raglan Sweater

ravelry Custom-fit Raglan Sweater

What do the five sweaters and jackets from the picture have in common?
They’re all made following the same instruction!

Unfortunately I could never finish such a big item ;-)

By the way, I got to know the instruction when I found the Crazy Lace Cardigan, but I absolutely wanted to present the instruction once more separately ;-)

Addendum: Kalinumba told us that there is a (German) online calculator for the Raglan sweater.
We don’t have to calculate ourselves, there ;-)

Random Knitting Chart Generator

babyzcostumeshop Random Knitting Chart Generator

As said before I looked recently for pattern generators and found also the random knitting chart generator.
I find this idea so great, somewhen I must knit this pattern ;-)

For the lace pattern on the picture I checked knit, purl, knit two together and yarn over, I didn’t check mirrored.

By the way I learned about this through the Ravelry group ‘Random Pattern Generators’, they found my generators also great ;-))

Crazy Lace Cardigan

Stitch Diva Studios Crazy Lace Cardigan

Amazing! A tutorial or rather a recipe on how to make a cardigan (or another piece of clothing) where you don’t have to sew and that particularly can’t get boring because you change the pattern every couple of inches following your own gusto – Crazy Lace.
I really consider trying it ;-))
But then I’d prefer The Incredible, Custom-fit Raglan Sweater as base.

Lace Jewelry Frames

Stitch Diva Studios Lace Jewelry Frames

Isn’t this a great idea to put a knitted lace into a frame to hold jewelry?
In the instruction you can also find a frame with a nice crochet lace.
By the way: actually you can use bought lace, too, can’t you? It must only be a little robust.

If you don’t like it, check again the other jewelry holders in the links below ;-)

Orenburg Style Shawl

fiberholics Orenburg Style Shawl

Isn’t the Orenburg style shawl most beautiful?
I’d neeever finish it but, who knows, perhaps one day…
And I’ve made the stitch markers already ;-)

With these Orenburg style shawls I find the knitting of the broad edge fascinating: you don’t have to cast-on stitches, everything is knitted in one piece right from the start.
Good, isn’t it? ;-)

Crocheted Stitch Markers

Crocheted Stitch Markers

unikatissima Crocheted Stitch Markers

I wanted to present these little, ingenious crocheted stitch markers.
I crocheted mine in less than five minutes!

She offers instructions for small, medium and large ones at ravelry.
Generally speaking it’s ‘only’ a chain ring base crocheted with single crochets – very simple as all ingenious ideas are :)

unikatissima Crocheted Stitch Markers I did it a little differently:
– I wrapped a needle 3x too big a couple of times with the crochet thread and
– crocheted single crochets around this tread ring.
That’s because I don’t like rings of chains ;-)

Her stitch markers are more beautiful, but mine are sufficient for me ;-)
And I don’t have to fall back to my usual stitch markers ;-)
