I’ve never heard about before: surprise ball gifts, but I find the idea sooo great: the presentee can use everything incl. the ‘wrapping’.
I wonder who will get my first surprise ball gift ;-)

Tie Rug
I’m already planning to make some projects with my by now purchased ties and then I found another intensive-tie-using-item: the tie rug!

Row Counter Bracelet
When knitting or crocheting you must often count the rows.
I have seen people who kept checklists in a very disciplined way, but personally I find this taking-the-pen-and-sketching-a-checkmark-on-the-list bothersome, the more so as one needs a table for this (at least I need it ;-)).
But not if you’re making a row counter bracelet (ok, you must leave your work beside, but you don’t need a table ;-)).
I didn’t make one yet, but I found the tutorial very good.
I’m sure that you can make the beads yourself, e.g. from polymer clay or felt (but felted beads may be too lightweight ?!)

Now that spring has come comes the time, too when to embellish the garden. Why not making garden hose baskets garden hose baskets then?
I don’t have a garden and they are too large for a balcony which can only contain two plain chairs or a canvas chair ;-)
Anyhow, I find them interesting.

Online Pattern Generator (Cellular Automaton)
I wrote another online pattern generator that you can use in a manner of speaking for ‘nearly everything’ ;-), but this time not for maze patterns, but for patterns that are made with a so called cellular automaton.
To tell you the truth, I haven’t as yet understood fully what a cellular automaton is ;-)
Everything began when I saw this knitted Cellular Automata Tea Cozy.
I found the pattern quite funny, so I made a little research and when I found the many different patterns that such a cellular automaton can generate I was dead set on writing an online pattern generator for such patterns.
Ta-DAA! And here it is.
A suggestion: If you don’t like a (random) pattern, simply click the ‘random’ or the ‘random random’ button again, some of the patterns differ considerably from each other!
And if you don’t know exactly what to do with the diagrams simply read again my entry ‘What Can You Do With Filet Crochet/Cross Stitch Embroidery Charts?’ ;-)
I wish you a lot of fun with it!
By the way: On the photo you see my first printed patterns, yarn in two colours, some beads, crochet and knitting needles.
I simply can’t settle for a project to begin ;-))

Tea Bag Envelopes
I’m collecting nearly everything (and that’s how it looks here, too ;-)) and from now on I will collect used tea bags, too, to make beautiful envelopes from.
I’m really curious about it. ;-))
On the photo you see my Rooibosh tea bags. I find that the Rooibosh tea gives the most beautiful colour, a very warm red-brown :)
By the way it must look great, too, if the tea bags are sewn together and/or if they are embellished after assembly, e.g. by embroidering, painting or stamping them.

Polymer Clay Tsunami Cane
Loooong ago I found the tutorial on how to make the polymer clay tsunami cane and tried it then immediately.
I find the cane really beautiful, but unfortunately I made more of a disk that I couldn’t reduce anymore.
It lays since years cased in a plastic bag and seems now to be quite hardened and brittle ;-(
But I can’t throw it away yet, I could still get an idea about what to do with it ;-))
