Drinking Straw Jewelry and Ornaments

unikatissima Drinking Straw Jewelry and Ornaments

When I saw the drinking straw pin I thought: ‘Oh yes, I want!’ ;-)

unikatissima Drinking Straw Jewelry and Ornaments It is quite easy: I took two different coloured drinking straws, cut them (veeery carefully!) into spirals with an X-acto knife und knotted them (not too firm) together.
This way my little ball stays in form without glue, sewing or the like.
I wanted to cut them first with scissors but I got ugly edges, the cut must be made with a really sharp cutting tool.

I find it cute as well as jewelry as well as tree ornament ;-)

Seven Flower Pop Up Card

unikatissima Seven Flower Pop Up Card

Recently I needed a Birthday card. I wanted to make something with a bunch of flowers and then remembered the Seven Flower Pop Up Card.

It was easily made, it just took a little bit time.
I used some pages from a bedclothes catalogue where the colours matched as paper ;-)
And I suggest to read the instructions thoroughly: First I glued the whole petals together and then the bunch of flowers didn’t open.
Luckily I could take everything apart and then I glued only the tips of the petals together.

unikatissima Seven Flower Pop Up Card With pop up cards I always find it difficult to decide what to make on the front of the card.
But here I didn’t have any problem: I simply made two more flowers that I didn’t cut but glued on the card. Some dashed lines with a felt tip pen – and the card was done.
As well the sender as the receiver are very satisfied with the results ;-))

Bobbin Holder

craftster Bobbin Holder

Ok, ok, today is Saint Nicholas, but here the show is already over, the boot wasn’t only filled but emptied already and life goes on.

And to let it go on neatly (at least concerning sewing) the bobbin holders from spiral binders can help ;-))
So in case that you still have to sew something for Christmas everything should go more easily now :)

Strainer Lamp

craftster Strainer Lamp

I like this lamp from a strainer and an old book very much, too.
It must give a beautiful light and if you – as said in the instruction – use a bulb that doesn’t get too hot there really shouldn’t be any problems.

And if you don’t like the lamp so much: I compiled a lot of other instructions for lamps made from a lot of things ;-))

Knitted Flowers

mypicot Knitted Flower

I liked the knitted rose best of all knitted flowers, that’s why I tried to knit it.
I thought that it must look cute with my white scarf.
And because it doesn’t need much thread it is great for stash use-up ;-)

unikatissima Knitted Flower That is my flower and I’m absolutely sure that I knitted it following the instructions.
Although I like it, I think that it looks more like a hyperbolic plane or a carnation flower than a rose.

I ask myself if this has to do with the fact that I have brown thumbs? ;-))

I mean to say that the photo convinced me that wallpaper as gift wrap is eminently suited!
And if you went in cardmaking a little bit, too, you surely still have same wallpaper rests laying around ;-)
