I find bags, purses and totes somehow interesting, especially when made from unusual materials (although I think that I will always stick to my knapsack ;-)).
That is the reason why I like the shoulder pad purse (scroll down to “Shoulder Pad Mini-Purses,”) so much!
Unfortunately I have only found boring white shoulder pads.
Well, they’d never make a knapsack ;-))

Actinia

unikatissima Actinia Wristwarmers

Once I saw the Worm Scarf and having read the instruction for the ‘worms’ I thought that you can knit great fringes this way.
I begun with wristwarmers and after having finished them they looked like the sea anemones called Actinia.

Then I was hooked and knitted an Actinia headband, an Actinia ring and an Actinia brooch (see pictures below).
It is soooo much fun ;-)

Via a craftster thread (Inga’s Häkelbeutel ~ German Granny Square Bag (CAL)) I found the tutorial for Inga’s Häkelbeutel (PDF ~140 KB).
The Granny square bag is to be found everywhere in internet and I understand why, because it is a brilliant idea.

On the photo I took my Lacy Crochet Square Margarethe from the day before yesterday and assembled it (digitally) to Inga’s Häkelbeutel – I haven’t had time yet to do it ‘for real’.
Looks good anyhow, doesn’ it?

After the duct tape wallet and the tetrapak coin purse I’d like to present today an ingenious tutorial on how to fold a paper wallet.
On the photo you see one of my test wallets, folded from an official envelope with window and blue patterned lining.
Envelopes are unfortunately too narrow, I can’t put in an unfolded bank note, but it was fun to fold ;-)
I folded others from DIN A4 paper covered in gift wrapping and I really like the size.
One has got a little pocket glued on, another got its sides glued together. One has been covered in self-adhesive book foil, another has been glued after been covered in transparent gift wrapping.
All work fine and seem to be robust (the author of the tutorial writes about this aspect, too).
The only thing I miss is a ‘real’ coin purse with closure.
But the best is: the folding is done in no time ;-))

It is e.g. a wonderful wrapping if you want to give money.

Es wäre z.B. eine tolle Verpackung für ein Geldgeschenk.

I always like looking for Origami tutorials and this time I’d like to present a tutorial for a little purse.
I know those purses from former times, they were made from leather. I had one, and soon I will make one from paper ;-)
Thinking about it, it must look great, if you use coloured magazine paper?! I have to try this.

At craftster.org I found a tutorial on how to make a wallet from duct tape.
I never tried it, because I’m a little concerned about the duct tape: I’m mostly putting my wallet into the back pocket of my jeans. Won’t the glue of the duct tape kind of melt with the warmth?
I still must ask this question at craftster.org.
