Paper Cut of Escher’s Relativity

Crackpot Papercraft Paper Cut of Eschers Relativity

Isn’t this maaadness?
This paper cut, designed after M.C. Eschers picture ‘Relativity’, is made from cardboard of about 22 x 28 cm without any adhesive.
And the maker has been so kind as to offer the diagram to everybody!
Thanks!

Recycled Roses

alisa burke Recycled Roses

I find these roses from fabric or paper most beautiful, even without wreath!
And it seems that they are easy to make, which does no harm! ;-))

They should look great for jewelry, too, for a ring or earring e.g.?!

If they’re not exactly your cup of tea simply look for flowers from fabric or flowers from paper ;-)

How to Press Flowers, Leaves and Herbs

unikatissima Clematis VII

I already wrote about drying flowers in the microwave and about flower pounding, here at how to press flowers, leaves and herbs you can find general and comprehensive tips, there are some that I want to try out ;-)

And what to do then with the pressed flowers and leaves?
That is what I did:
unikatissima Clematis VII On the picture you see a little ‘piece of art’ that was meant originally as a card but is much to time-consuming for this: it is a Clematis petal pressed in an old phone book, embellished with self-made decorative paper and hand embroidery.

unikatissima Der trockene Sommer Here I’ve pressed a leek leaf in an old phone book, too, and embroidered it.

unikatissima Herbst I don’t know what kind of leaf this is, but I combined it with self-made decorative paper, self-made ‘papyrus’ and hand embroidery.

Toilet Paper (Wedding) Dresses

Cheap Chic Toilet Paper (Wedding) Dresses

When I read about Toilet Paper Wedding Dresses, I first thought that this is nonsense.
Until I saw the photos of the previous contests: Wow!

And if you think this is posh, simply try the newspaper dress ;-)

Faux Quilt Votives

Just Something I Made Faux Quilt Votives

I find this idea really great, too: simply scan old quilts, print, sew a little and wrap around a votive ;-)
It’s a little bit as with the Fabric/Paper Place Mat.
And I think that it would look wonderful, too, with a paper Crazy Quilt!

By the way: the paper gets more transparent when you paint it slightly with oil.
It will smell a while, but then the smell disappears ;-)

On the page she also shows how to print the quilt picture onto inkjet T-shirt transfer and embellish leather with it – great!

Fabric/Paper Place Mat

alisaburke Fabric Paper Place Mat

When I saw these place mats I was compleeetly thrilled: that’s exactly what I love so much!
She seems to use as well fabric as paper – many of these self coloured.
And I do love to work with paper, e.g. at my paper shopping bag or my paper Crazy Quilt ;-)
