The patterned concrete planters are actually easy to make because the pattern comes from the use of different plastic bottles.
A great idea!
I think that you can make this with plaster, too, but it would not be as waterproof and not as heavy as concrete.

When I searched in internet for the laptop book case I found that it is sold ready-made. But it should be possible to make it in the same way than the software documentation purse :)
