Wow, an idea again that I really appreciate: take a phone book, roll it up and fix it with a ring of a nature what-so-ever and done is the card holder!

The silver coloured ring looks quite good, but I imagine that it would look as good when you wrap your card holder with wire, plastic, beautiful yarns or fabrics or when you slip a poymer clay ring over, the only thing to make sure is that you fix everything well.
And in place of the Yellow Pages you can use as well coloured ads or paper – neatly stacked – or books where you removed the cover.

I’ve seen some shaped books, at an exhibition e.g. in our public library and I always liked them.
Therefore I’ve been pleased to find a tutorial for shaped books – great! :))

By the way, there are folded books, too which seem to be interesting, too ;-)

Isn’t this a great idea?
A friend sent me the link to the blog where they knit with several ‘unorthodox’ materials – it’s worth a try, I find ;-)
Perhaps crocheting, too!?

By the way, you can knit with polymer clay, too, but unfortunately I didn’t find back the links except for some photos.

I like paper weaving and recycling, too, but I like it even better if all come together ;-)

This happens here: they had the inventive idea to glue some newspaper on beverage cartons and weave them with plastic strips to make a (non-waterproof!) vase from.
What a great idea!

Somehow I really love painted shoes and so I was thrilled about the tutorial for self customized sneakers.
As much fun as spraypainted shoes ;-)

I think that I won’t do this because first I have too much shoes already and second they somehow don’t match my style, but who knows? ;-)

It would have never occurred to me to make such fascinators by myself, but then: Why not? ;-))

My hair is very soft and thin, therefore my fascinator should be at the most half as luxurious, but I think I will see what I can do there :)

I found at craftster a fantastic instruction: how to make cute teapots from bulbs and polymer clay, how to make great candle holders from bulbs and polymer clay, how to make a genie lamp from bulbs and polymer clay (although she doesn’t say how to get a genie into the lamp ;-)) and how to make an elastic polymer clay bracelet from the left overs (ok, somewhen I had to come to the point ;-)).
Sheer lunacy! :)

Don’t those golden leaves look great?
A dear friend made them from (admittedly mustard ;-)) tubes and allowed me to show here how to make them.

That’s what you do:

You need a (clean and empty! ;-)) tube with golden internal coating, scissors and a wooden stick, e.g. a kebab skewer.

I folded up the tube which was cut open on three sides and cut out two equal leaves.

First I flattened the leaves slightly and then I put the kebab skewer in and pressed them lightly until the midrib of the leaf begun to show.

Then I scratched the leaf ribs with the back of my kebab skewer from the backside of every leaf.

Afterwards I reduced one leaf by cutting away an edge of about 3 mm.

I put both leaves on top of one another and scratched the outline of the smaller leaf slightly with the tip of my kebab skewer into the larger leaf.
Then I cut the edge of the larger leaf from the rim to the scratched line of the smaller leaf about every 5 mm.

I put both leaves on top of one another with the golden sites outwards and folded back the sections.

At the end I stuck the kebab skewer between the leaves.

You can stuck it in also before folding back the sections, just as you like it.

My friend additionally glued on the kebab skewer but we both don’t know if this is necessary ;-))
