{"id":4457,"date":"2010-11-07T08:01:10","date_gmt":"2010-11-07T06:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unikatissima-e.riamore.eu\/?p=4457"},"modified":"2010-10-28T09:43:23","modified_gmt":"2010-10-28T07:43:23","slug":"knitting-pattern-corrugated-stockinette","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/unikatissima.riamore.eu\/e\/?p=4457","title":{"rendered":"Knitting Pattern &#8216;Corrugated Stockinette&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"..\/uploads\/unikatissima Knitting Pattern Corrugated Stockinette a.jpg\" alt=\"unikatissima Knitting Pattern Corrugated Stockinette\" width=\"200\" height=\"125\" class=\"alignleft size-medium\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"links\"><a href=\"#li101107\"><strong>Links of entry<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Recently I knitted something in <a href=\"?tag=brioche-knitting\">brioche knitting<\/a> and thought that it should look good if I&#8217;d alternate knit stitches and brioche stitches.<br \/>\nI find that it looks really good ;-))<br \/>\nBecause it reminds me of corrugated cardboard I called it &#8216;Corrugated Stockinette&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Although I&#8217;ve never seen this pattern in internet I&#8217;m sure that I&#8217;m not the first to devise (discover?!) it ;-)<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>And that&#8217;s what you do:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<u>Knitted in rows:<\/u><br \/>\nCast on an odd number of stitches<br \/>\n<u>1. row:<\/u> purl across (wrong side)<br \/>\n<u>2. row:<\/u> * 1 k, 1 dk *, repeat from * to *, end with 1 k<br \/>\nrepeat rows 1-2 until reached the desired height<\/p>\n<p>dk (&#8216;deep knit&#8217;) means not to knit the stitch of the current row but the stitch of the previous row (enter needle into knit stitch of row below as if to knit, knit), the stitch of the current row disappears.<\/p>\n<p>The fabric curls, it must therefore be blocked.<\/p>\n<p><u>Knitted in rounds:<\/u><br \/>\nAdditionally you can knit it easily in rounds, too:<br \/>\ncast on an even number of stitches, mark begin of the round<br \/>\n<u>1. round:<\/u> knit across<br \/>\n<u>2. round:<\/u> * 1 k, 1 dk *, repeat from * to *<br \/>\nrepeat rows 1-2 until reached the desired height<\/p>\n<div class=\"clearboth\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"..\/uploads\/unikatissima Knitting Pattern Corrugated Stockinette b.jpg\" alt=\"unikatissima Knitting Pattern Corrugated Stockinette\" width=\"200\" height=\"210\" class=\"alignleft size-medium\" \/><br \/>\nOf course you can knit scarves from this pattern, but also double scarves by knitting in rounds and simply sewing the openings on top and bottom.<br \/>\nI think that the pattern would look fine as well for bags (in rounds, but only sew the bottom ;-)), for wristwarmers (in rounds, but don&#8217;t sew anything ;-))), for hats, cardigans, sweaters and actually everything else ;-))<\/p>\n<p>Have much fun with it!<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"li101107\"><\/a><br \/>\n<em><strong>Links:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<a href=\"?tag=brioche-knitting\">Entries with the tag &#8216;Brioche knitting&#8217;<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Links of entry Recently I knitted something in brioche knitting and thought that it should look good if I&#8217;d alternate knit stitches and brioche stitches.
