{"id":2018,"date":"2009-04-06T08:00:01","date_gmt":"2009-04-06T07:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unikatissima-e.riamore.eu\/?p=2018"},"modified":"2009-03-20T11:09:22","modified_gmt":"2009-03-20T10:09:22","slug":"water-balloon-luminaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/unikatissima.riamore.eu\/e\/?p=2018","title":{"rendered":"Water Balloon Luminaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.candletech.com\/techniques-and-ideas\/water-balloon-luminaries\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"..\/uploads\/candletech Water Balloon Luminaries.jpg\" alt=\"candletech Water Balloon Luminaries\" width=\"200\" height=\"131\" class=\"alignleft size-medium\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"links\"><a href=\"#li090406\"><strong>Links of entry<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Aren&#8217;t those beautiful?<br \/>\nWhen finding the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.candletech.com\/techniques-and-ideas\/water-balloon-luminaries\/\">instruction on how to make water balloon luminaries<\/a> I was thrilled.<br \/>\nIt looks so easy (I haven&#8217;t tested it yet) and it&#8217;s worth to read the comments, too, to get the experience and more ideas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>several comments tell about their experience with this technique: some had problems with popping balloons while dipping them into the wax and hot wax got everywhere, so it seems that one has to be very careful;<\/li>\n<li>somebody said that they saw poured sand at the bottom to prevent overheating\/melting, somebody else suggested to put some water in the luminary for the same reason;<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ve seen mentioned somewhere to cast some plaster of paris on the bottom for the same reason;<\/li>\n<li>as <a href=\"http:\/\/extremecards.blogspot.com\/\">Carol<\/a> said for the <a href=\"?p=1463\">geometric cut paper table lamp<\/a> you can use battery operated tea lights;<\/li>\n<li>suggestions were given to put something between the layers, like leaves and somebody else told their erperience with this;<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ve seen somewhere that somebody glued (somehow?) the top layer of paper napkins on such wax luminaries;<\/li>\n<li>someone wanted to make parts of the luminary opaque which didn&#8217;t work, but somebody else suggested to use different coloured wax for the layers with a dark colour as outer layer and then carefully carve out a pattern through the outer layers;<\/li>\n<li>one comment even suggests to do a similar technique with chocolate syrup in place of wax to get chocolate bowls (hmmm! ;-));<\/li>\n<li>and somebody gave a tip on what to use if you don&#8217;t have a double boiler.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;m not quite sure if I want to play around with this, but the temptation is strong ;-))<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"li090406\"><\/a><br \/>\n<em><strong>Links:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.candletech.com\/techniques-and-ideas\/water-balloon-luminaries\/\">Water Balloon Luminaries<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Links of entry Aren&#8217;t those beautiful?
