Why?<\/span><br \/>\n        <em><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nThe pattern can only be made with an odd number of squares width, therefore I added a square when an even number is entered.<br \/>\n<br \/>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Question:<\/strong><\/em> <span class=\"question\">The saving of the overview or the patterns takes sometimes a lot of time! Why?<\/span><br \/>\n        <em><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nThe answer has two parts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the one hand the time that the pattern generator needs to save a chart depends on the size of the graphic.<\/li>\n<li>In case that you&#8217;re still using the Flash Player 9 everything works but the saving process takes longer than with the Flash Player 10.<br \/>\nIf you want to <a href=\"http:\/\/get.adobe.com\/flashplayer\/\">update your Flash Player<\/a> you can do this directly at Adobe.<br \/>\nIf you don&#8217;t know which version you are using you can let <a href=\"http:\/\/kb.adobe.com\/selfservice\/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15507\">display the version<\/a> at Adobe, too.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Question:<\/strong><\/em> <span class=\"question\">My friend can let generate larger patterns than I can. Why?<\/span><br \/>\n        <em><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nThis depends on your Flash Player version, version 9 oder 10. Therefore I always compare the overviews and print then the pattern with the same name identification code, e.g. is the overview called &#8216;unikatissima_CA57_<em><strong>7kD<\/strong><\/em>.png&#8217; and the pattern &#8216;unikatissima_CA57_pattern_<em><strong>7kD<\/strong><\/em>.png&#8217;.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Question:<\/strong><\/em> <span class=\"question\">The pictures I&#8217;m saving have strange names. Why?<\/span><br \/>\n        <em><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"..\/uploads\/unikatissima_CA57_pattern.png\" alt=\"unikatissima Cellular Automaton Generator\" width=\"120\" height=\"120\" class=\"alignleft size-medium\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"..\/uploads\/unikatissima_CA57.png\" alt=\"unikatissima Cellular Automaton Generator\" width=\"34\" height=\"34\" class=\"alignleft size-medium\" \/> The overview, that&#8217;s the smaller picture, is always called &#8216;unikatissima_CA++_***.png&#8217;, where &#8216;++&#8217; stands for the rule number and &#8216;***&#8217; stands for a random letter number combination.<br \/>\nThe pattern, the larger picture that you can use <a href=\"?p=2044\">to work in different techniques<\/a> is always called &#8216;unikatissima_CA++_pattern_***.png&#8217;, where &#8216;++&#8217; stands for the same rule number and &#8216;***&#8217; stands for the same letter number combination as for the overview. E.g. is the overview called &#8216;unikatissima_<em><strong>CA57<\/strong><\/em>_<em><strong>7kD<\/strong><\/em>.png&#8217; and the pattern &#8216;unikatissima_<em><strong>CA57<\/strong><\/em>_pattern_<em><strong>7kD<\/strong><\/em>.png&#8217;.<br \/>\nThis way a pattern can easily be assigned to the overview after you&#8217;re chosen a name=\"pattern1\"><\/a><br \/>\n<em><strong>Completed patterns:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nI find that some of the patterns look <em>nearly<\/em> good, but I wouldn&#8217;t work them as they are.<br \/>\nTherefore I show here how it can look if the patterns are postworked.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clearboth\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><strong>Pattern 1:<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"..\/uploads\/unikatissima_CA_orig.png\" alt=\"unikatissima Cellular Automaton Generator\" width=\"204\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignleft size-medium\" \/> I found this pattern rather beautiful, but found the black stripe in the center too large and the white stripes in the long run dull.<br \/>\nWhat is more: if you work several pattern repeats side by side there comes a white dull stripe between both what I didn&#8217;t like, too.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clearboth\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"..\/uploads\/unikatissima_CA_pw.png\" alt=\"unikatissima Cellular Automaton Generator\" width=\"204\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignleft size-medium\" \/> That is the pattern after my postwork.<br \/>\nTwo of the white stripes have been interrupted, the large black stripe is gone, the problem with the pattern repeats doesn&#8217;t occur no more and additionally I shifted a part of the pattern upwards to get a (as I find) more balanced and easier to work pattern would look if repeated as well horizontally as vertically.<br \/>\nAnd?<br \/>\nI find it really beautiful ;-)<\/p>\n<div class=\"clearboth\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" href=\"?p=2044\">other techniques<\/a> work as well).<br \/>\nI knitted some more rows than just one pattern repeat and as you can see it matches great.<br \/>\nI&#8217;m not a very experienced multi colour knitter, but I find it beautiful (it&#8217;s only wavy because I haven&#8217;t blocked it yet: I&#8217;m still working on it!).<br \/>\nNow I only have to find out what to do with it print and work.<br \/>\nI&#8217;d really love it if I could see some pictures, then.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clearboth\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><a name=\"pattern2\"><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Pattern 2:<\/strong><br
